Acclaimed Assamese Litterateur and Veteran Journalist Homen Borgohain Dead

Homen Borgohain– one of the most eminent personalities of Assamese literature and journalism died on May 12, leaving behind a large number of works and acclaims. Borgohain (1932- 2021) won the country’s most prestigious literary award- the Sahitya Akademi Award– in the year 1978 which he returned in the year 2015 following the protest by writers and artists against the rising intolerance in the country (religious and political). Starting his career with the Asam State Administrative Services, he joined as a journalist editing multiple magazines and daily newspapers. His important works include- Atmanusandhan, Mursangbadik Jibon. Soudor Puteke Nau Meli Jay etc.
